Projects
Projects is where your team plans and does the work. A project holds tasks; a task can have an assignee, dates, a priority, an effort estimate, subtasks and dependencies.
Every project has four views, and remembers the one you used last:
- Board: a column per lane. Drag tasks between lanes, or tap Start and Complete.
- List: everything in a table you can sort and group.
- Timeline: tasks as bars across the calendar, with dependencies. Drag a bar to move it.
- Calendar: tasks on the days they’re due.
Filter any view to Mine or Overdue, or by person, priority and dates.
Workflow
Section titled “Workflow”Each project has its own lanes, like To do › Design › Review › Done. Every lane belongs to one of three categories (to do, doing or done), so progress, overdue counts and reports work whatever you call your lanes. Mark a task as a key date to show it as a milestone on the timeline.
Add files to a task with Add files, or drop them anywhere on the task’s Files section; on your phone you can pick photos, take one, or choose a file. Each file can be up to 100 MB. Images show a preview, and anything else downloads when you open it.
Anyone who can edit a project can add files to its tasks, and everyone who can see a task can open them. You can remove the files you added, and project managers can remove anyone’s. Removing one shows Undo for a few seconds. When a task is deleted, its files go with it.
File storage is unlimited under our fair use policy.
Across projects
Section titled “Across projects”- My tasks lists everything assigned to you, grouped into Overdue, This week, Next week and Later.
- Portfolio shows every project’s status, progress and dates, with status updates from each project’s managers.
- Workload shows each person’s tasks per week against the working week, so you can spot who’s overloaded.
Clients
Section titled “Clients”A project can have a client: a company or contact from the Directory. When a CRM deal is won, Start a project creates one for that client.
Working together
Section titled “Working together”Comment on any task and @mention people to bring them in. You follow what you create, are assigned or are mentioned on, and Notify me on a project tells you about every new task in it.
